Proctor: Wirelessly 'on the prowl' Oct 17, 2005 October 17, 2005 You're out on the town, hanging with your friends but realizing the club you're at is really lame. Enter ZOGO (www.zogo.com).Now, you can use your Web-enabled cell phone to connect to other ZOGO members, or as ZOGO puts it: "The breakthrough 'Prowling' feature allows singles to search for other singles that are also out on the town and in their immediate vicinity. This permits instant dating on the go. "Prowling lets members know who is out and about and ready to talk and, possibly, hook up. A star on the member's profile lets others know that the member is 'on the prowl.' " The ZOGO network connects users, but callers' numbers are masked so members don't have to give out their phone numbers unless they want to. As with most new wireless technologies, this type of "dating" is already big in South Korea. And ZOGO says it's working on a way to allow auction buyers and sellers to connect anonymously. |
