Wireless dating options for those on-the-go plus: LoveSac theater
Posted by the Asbury Park Press on 01/13/06
Now that technology has allowed everything from gaming to watching TV to shopping to go mobile, why not dating? It seems almost wasteful to spend time perusing dating sites at your computer when you could be out and about. Here are two new websites that help on-the-go singles find a match
With over 21 million iPods roaming around, there’s bound to be a few owners searching for a date. Although still in the Beta stage, PodDater allows anyone with a video-capable MP3 player (ie. iPod video, PSP) to download future love matches to their mobile devices. Kind of like a modern day version of video-dating a la Singles, PodDater subscribers get the added bonus of viewing real-life personalities, which is presumed to be a bit more engaging than the average online photo and profile text. We’ll be interested to see how PodDater fares once the holiday shopping season puts even more video mp3 players into the hands of hungry singles all over the country.
If spontaneity is your strong suit, Zogo could be for you. This mobile phone based dating firm allows users to surf profiles, either online or through their web-enabled mobile phone. Similar in concept to Meetro, Zogo‘s “prowling” feature lets users browse through profiles in close proximity – opening up even more opportunities for chance meetings. Users send invites to love interests, and if the receiving party is interested, their phone rings. Caller ID is masked, allowing users to stay anonymous.
